Insurance Rig Inspections
Insurance companies require rig inspections to ensure continuity of cover for your boat. We have qualified surveyors on staff who can assess and advise on all issues which may need to be addressed before sailing to your next destination. We supply a written report of our findings, and you can have complete confidence that your mast and rigging have been thoroughly inspected. You are then able to address any issues which have been noted for your attention if required.
Re-rigging and Replacement Wires
If wires and rigging on your mast need replacing, we have the technical expertise to complete the job to the highest standard and quality. We carry the appropriate insurance cover required for the protection of your property and our rigger whilst working on your vessel. Through our associated contacts, we can offer engineering solutions for any issues, which may arise. Care and safety are our number one priority, and to this end we remove nearly all masts from yachts for service and repair. This practice serves two purposes -
- Allowing the rigger and owner the opportunity to carry out a full assessment of the rig and repair any problems while the rig is removed from the yacht
- Meets all Insurance and Workplace Health and Safety requirements
Ropes and splicing
We have access to Australia’s premium rope supplies, and can offer any form of rope you may require, ranging from standard Double Braid ropes and Dyneemas right through to top-end custom made Dynex and Vectran halyards and sheets as are used on racing boats all over the world. Some of the latest breed of Volvo 70 yachts from the 09/10 race used these ropes which took them all the way around the globe using just the one set of sheets. As Australia’s largest users of rope, our stockists carry 600mtr boxes in all standard colours including black, blue, red, green, yellow and white. We can also access a range of other colours and should you require we could price them for you.
To achieve strength ropes are commonly spliced to take the breaking load of ropes as high as possible at termination. This is a specialty of Innovative Rigging and we take great pride to ensure that the rope is presentable and strong, and will survive the rigorous and testing conditions of sailing.

Furlers are common fixtures on most yachts and at Innovative Rigging we are able to offer various options for the best quality furler at the right price to suit your yacht. We can also install your new furler on your yacht if required.

Rig tuning
If you’re searching for that ‘little extra’ out of your yacht or multihull, then we can help you. An on-water sail tune can help you achieve this end. Rig tuning involves checking the alignment of the mast and tip lay-off and bends; we have associations with many sailmakers, and can work in conjunction with them to tune your rig. This allows us to offer a combined rig and sail tune requiring only a few hours of your time. This time could well invested and be the answer to arriving at the top mark a little earlier, or reaching your destination sooner so you can relax and enjoy the sun setting over the water. A rig tune can make your goal so much easier to achieve.
